Monthly Men's Breakfast
We would like to make sure that everyone is aware that since October 2010, we have been holding a Breakfast for men, more or less, every month. The Breakfast was established to provide a meeting point for the men of the Parish. It is open to any man who would like to attend and it takes place monthly.
We meet for a Full English at 8-30am on the first Saturday of the month.
What do we do? Well it is normally a very informal event with only one fixed item on the agenda, “The Breakfast”.
We talk men’s talk. Football, politics, news; in fact any item relevant or interesting. We feel that we are able to freely express our views with confidence within the group and do often get onto quite controversial topics. It is surprising how often our Faith, and our questions about it, come to the fore.
This ability to meet in this way means that we have all developed friendships and support one another. This friendship is at the very heart of the community of Church.
We are only a small group and whilst there is no vision of the numbers becoming massive, we would like to ensure that any and every man in the parish knows that they are invited to attend they would be made very welcome.
The breakfast takes place at 8-30 am, on the first Saturday of each month (except when it clashes with other activities). We try to be finished by about 10.00am so as not to conflict with family activities. All men are invited. The cost is £2.50 for a (very) full English breakfast.
To cater, we need to know numbers and so it is necessary to make contact by the Thursday evening before the breakfast. We try to contact by email, but not using email would not be a problem.
To request a place, call Tom Bentham on 01543 506698 or 0780 884 9085.
